Legacy Microsoft Non-Profit licenties no longer available
In 2019, Microsoft introduced the New Commerce Experience (NCE). NCE is an enhanced pricing model - within the Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program - for purchasing Microsoft Cloud services, including Azure and Microsoft 365.
As of January 1 2024, this pricing model has also become available to "Non-Profit" and "Academic" organizations. In the upcoming period, the range of Non-Profit and Academic services that can be purchased through NCE will continue to grow. Simultaneously with the growth of the offerings within NCE, the 'legacy' offerings, as Microsoft describes the current license setup, are being phased out.
Legacy offerings are eventually going to disappear altogether. As of May 1 2024, new Non-Profit and Academic subscriptions can only be purchased through NCE and as of July 1 2024, Microsoft will convert current Non-Profit and Academic subscriptions from legacy to NCE as they expire.
Your Account Executive can tell you when your Microsoft subscriptions will expire and also provide insight into the financial impact of this announcement. For most Open Line customers, financial impact - if any – is not to be expected until 2025.
If you have any questions, please reach out to your Account Executive.
