Quality System
A positive audit for the 14th time
Open Line first established its formal quality system in 2010. Before that, of course, there was also a system, but with growth came the need to have an audited and recognized quality system. Since that time, Open Line has been audited annually and at the end of 2023 we received confirmation for the 14th time that our quality system is in good shape, taking us once again into 2024 fully certified.
Our quality system is audited against the following standards:
- ISO/IEC 20000-1:2018
- ISO/IEC 27000-1:2013
- ISO/IEC 27000-1:2022
- NEN 7510-1:2017+A1:2020
- ISO 9001:2015
Surely, in the world of ICT, this is a unique and complete set of standards. Successfully completing an audit does not happen by itself. We have a total of 25 processes, not all of which are tested, but each year a (different) selection is audited. Such an audit is known as a recertification audit. This does not make it any easier, because it does require complete preparation and a complete quality system.
The audit of Open Line is conducted by DEKRA and takes 7 full days. During those days, the selected processes are audited by 2 auditors. For each process, the process owners are questioned and it must be demonstrated that each process meets the mentioned standards. The descriptions, the interviews, the evidence provided and the way we have translated the standards into practice are the components on which the auditors determine whether we comply. No mean feat, because such an audit involves at least 16 employees and there is no standard questionnaire ready to answer. The auditors determine what is asked.
Preparation for the audit and continuous honing of the process is explicitly embedded in our way of working. Each process owner has ample time to manage, develop and monitor the processes. In addition, the process owners are supported by a quality coordinator and by the entire managed services organization. Hundreds of audits take place throughout the year. A positive audit and the accompanying certificate does not come naturally and is more than just a paper exercise. Within Open Line it is therefore truly embedded in the way of working.
In their final report, the auditors describe their findings and whether any deficiencies were found. These may be serious deficiencies, normal deficiencies or opportunities for improvement. The latest audit found three limited deficiencies that were easily corrected. The auditors were therefore full of praise for the maturity of the Open Line quality system.
We are justifiably proud of the outcome of our audit. What makes it extra nice this time around is that we were also audited against the new ISO/IEC 27001 standard (2022) and passed that gloriously as well.
For you as a customer, this means that you can say with the same pride as Open Line that your ICT is managed in accordance with the most important standards and that you too have passed the audit with flying colors for that part.
